RELATIONSHIP OF BODY WEIGHT WITH MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ENDOMETRIUM IN PATIENTS WITH INFERTILITY AND POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME
Pregnancy rates in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome are low even with high-quality embryos, indicating that in addition to anovulation, many pathological manifestations may also be related to the endometrial microenvironment. The number of uterine natural killer cells in the endometrium in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome significantly decreases during the secretory phase and increases during the proliferative period, which is confirmed by our study. Obese and overweight patients have a higher level of expression of CD56 positive cells compared to patients with normal weight. The presence of CD138 positive cells more than 3 in an endometrial biopsy in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, regardless of body mass index, indicates the presence of chronic endometritis.
