Risk Analysis and Safety Standards for Digital Fabrication Tools in Invention Labs for Primary and Secondary Schools
This study investigated how to ensure the safe use of various digital manufacturing tools and equipment, such as 3D printers, in invention labs at elementary, middle, and high schools to prevent potential accidents. These tools and equipment present various hazards such as abrasions, contusions, fractures, punctures, cuts, lacerations, corneal damage, inhalation of harmful substances, poisoning, electric shock, burns, and fire. The likelihood of these risks varies depending on the type of task and tools involved, requiring appropriate prevention and control measures. This study proposes safety standards for the operation of invention labs, emphasizing the importance of both technical and managerial aspects. The managerial safety standards focus on three key areas: inspection, maintenance management, and education, contributing to practical safety management in these labs.
