The Impact of Leisure Attitude on Leisure Involvement and Behavioral Intention - A Study on Generation Z in the Metropolitan Area -

This study aims to examine the influence of Generation Z's leisure attitudes on leisure immersion and behavioral intention. Data were collected from 200 Generation Z residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do using a quota sampling method to ensure gender balance. The results are as follows: Generation Z's average expenditure on a single leisure activity was less than 100,000 won, and they primarily participated in leisure activities alone or with friends. Leisure activity information was mainly obtained through the internet and mobile platforms, with personal hobby activities being the most preferred. The primary motivations for leisure activities were relaxation and stress relief. Leisure attitudes were classified into two factors: emotional attitudes and behavioral attitudes. Leisure immersion was also divided into two factors: cognitive immersion and behavioral immersion. The findings indicate that emotional attitudes had a greater impact on cognitive immersion, while behavioral attitudes had a stronger influence on behavioral immersion. Additionally, cognitive immersion had a more significant effect on behavioral intentions than behavioral immersion. Finally, leisure attitudes were found to have a significant impact on behavioral intention. These results provide insights into Generation Z’s leisure behavior and offer valuable academic and practical implications for understanding and addressing their leisure needs.
