An Analysis of Perceptions of Smart Hotels - A Focus on Semantic Network Analysis -

Smart hotels represent a new paradigm in the hospitality industry, leveraging technological innovations driven by information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance customer experiences and optimize operational efficiency. As customer demands and expectations evolve, smart hotels are poised to redefine the future of the hospitality industry through continuous innovation and development. Moreover, the adoption of eco-friendly smart hotels is expected to contribute to sustainability by promoting efficient resource management. This study explores the perception of smart hotels through a semantic network analysis, a method increasingly utilized in hospitality research. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the terms "hotel," "smart," "reservation," "method," "airplane," "pass," "procedure," "region," "system," "check-in," "accommodation," "recommendation," "check-out," and "location" exhibited high occurrence frequencies. Second, an analysis of degree centrality and closeness centrality for smart hotel-related terms revealed differences between the two measures. Notably, terms such as "recommendation," "location," "accommodation," "service," and "free" demonstrated high closeness centrality scores. Third, a CONCOR analysis identified six distinct clusters reflecting the perception of smart hotels. These clusters encompassed key attributes of smart hotels, methods of usage, travel and accommodation aspects, and discounts associated with smart hotel services.
