Implementation and Design of Fiber to the Building using Higher Splitter Ratio Method

The development of telecommunication data exchanges very fast nowadays due to the trend of user demand. Optical fiber transmission has been widely used in addressing every telecommunication service need, this research offers the concept of FTTB. This research method uses a higher split ratio to improve the QoS of FTTB based on GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network). Subsequently, the results are assessed and scrutinized, focusing on the link power budget parameters to ensure compatibility with optical network feasibility. The FTTB is concentrated at the JC (Joint Closure) location with users including Tunas Ridean Building (Loc-1), Tafakul Insurance Building (Loc-2), and Panin Bank Building (Loc-3). The location from the CO (Central Office) to the ODP (Optical Distribution Point) is 1.88km. Then, ODP to JC is 0.15km. Next, JC to OTB Loc-1 is 0.22km. Subsequently, the distance from JC to OTB Loc-2 is 0.06 km, while it is 0.11 km to OTB Loc-3. The comprehensive assessment reveals that the power link budget acquired remains below the receiver sensitivity threshold of -28dBm. Ultimately, the findings affirm the effective deployment of the FTTB network utilizing the higher split ratio approach, particularly suitable for densely populated office structures.
