Effect of Symmetrical Distribution on Antenna Fault Detection in Massive MIMO Systems
In massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, it is challenging to fully achieve the beamforming gain without accurate channel state information (CSI). When an antenna fault occurs, there would be a severe mismatch between the estimated CSI and the true CSI. In addition, due to the symmetrical distribution of the antenna array, it is challenging to identify the location of the antenna fault. In this paper, we investigate the effect of symmetrical distribution on antenna fault detection and then provide potential solutions that precisely find the location of the antenna fault.
