Design of Passenger Flow Information Acquisition and Distribution System for Metro Stations
This design proposes a passenger flow information acquisition and dissemination system for metro stations, aiming to cope with the increase in passenger flow and local congestion caused by the expansion of the metro network. Through systematic and automated passenger flow monitoring and information dissemination, it reduces the information asymmetry and congestion risk due to the lag of manual judgement, and disseminates passenger flow information through the Internet to make it convenient for passengers to know the distribution of passengers and the degree of congestion in the station at any time and any place. The system consists of several Jetson collection slaves, switches, station processing hosts and information dissemination boards. Each acquisition slave is equipped with a binocular camera, a power module, a Jetson host, and an attitude sensor to acquire information about the distribution of passengers in the monitored area and the attitude of the device itself. The collected data is transmitted via Ethernet to the station processing host, which summarises the passenger location information in each area, removes duplicated data, and statistically generates the overall passenger flow distribution. The system publishes this information within the station through visual means, guiding passengers to avoid congested areas, optimising the distribution of people in the station and reducing the risk of congestion.
