Test Case Generation Approach Relying on Colored Petri Nets and Its Application in The R Handover Process of The Train Control System
The train control system, acting as the central nervous system of high-speed railways, is an exemplary safety-critical system par excellence. Implementing effective testing on safety-critical systems constitutes a vital approach to augment system safety. Due to the paramount importance of RBC handover within the train control system, this paper introduces a test case generation approach for RBC handover founded on Petri nets. In accordance with the technical specifications of the train control system, a Colored Petri net model of RBC handover is established to generate the state space and seek out the path leading to the target state. Subsequently, test cases are produced on the basis of this path. By contrasting the test cases generated by Colored Petri nets with existing ones, the correctness of the test case generation method based on Colored Petri nets is validated, simultaneously avoiding the ambiguity inherent in traditional test cases described in natural language. This can function as a reference for model-based system testing.
