Modeling of Reducing Steam Energy in Papermaking
Since the paper industry is a complex process that consumes a significant amount of electricity and heating energy, research on steam energy savings is essential for reducing energy consumption in paper production processes. Over 60% of the energy consumed in the papermaking process is used in the drying stage of the papermaking process, which has the characteristic of being difficult to recover steam energy. Therefore, this paper identifies the key factors related to energy consumption and heat recovery and analyzes the predicted results of heat recovery. Through correlation analysis, it was confirmed that steam pressure, steam temperature, recovery heat, and dilution pressure are the main factors related to energy consumption. MLP was utilized to analyze the relationship between recovered materials and steam pressure, steam temperature, and diluent pressure. SVM was performed with the top 10 papers in production as independent variables and showed an accuracy of 0.95. The major characteristics of steam energy consumption and the analysis of the relationships between key factors related to heat recovery can be utilized in the development of energy-saving technologies in the paper industry, ultimately contributing to energy conservation.
