Real-time Collision Detection Algorithm Optimization in Game Physics Engines
Real-time collision detection in large-scale dynamic scenes has long been a critical challenge in game physics simulation. To address this issue, we propose an efficient optimization algorithm that significantly improves the performance of collision detection. By leveraging spatial partitioning, SIMD instruction optimization, parallel computing, and memory management, our algorithm achieves a substantial speedup in collision detection. Experimental results show that our optimized algorithm can handle millions of objects with a collision detection time of only 18.5 ms per frame, a $\mathbf{9 5 . 5 \%}$ improvement over the original version. In complex scene tests, our algorithm maintains a stable frame rate of 50FPS, far surpassing mainstream physics engines such as PhysX and Bullet. These results provide strong support for large-scale game physics simulation and drive the development of real-time physics simulation technology.
