Support of Broadcast Service in NTN

From Release 17, 3GPP New Radio (NR) has been adapted to support satellite communication in Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN). NTNs can provide wide-area coverage and are highly effective for broadcasting services. To efficiently support broadcast services in NR NTN, 3GPP is working on specifying the signaling of the intended service area of a broadcast service. In this paper, we address how to efficiently support broadcast services in NR NTN, which features extensive cell coverage.

To efficiently support broadcast services in NR NTN, 3GPP is working on specifying the signaling of the intended service area of a broadcast service. In this paper, we address how to efficiently support broadcast services in NR NTN, which features extensive cell coverage.
