Stochastic Resonance in Excitable Gene Regulatory Networks with Gaussian Colored Noise
The molecular noise plays an important role in biological systems. In this paper, we investigate the effect of the colored noise in the process of information transfer in the excitable general regulatory model. With the input signals being a random Bernoulli sequence, calculation by an information-based methodology discloses that both the noise intensity induced stochastic resonance and the correlation time induced stochastic resonance might appear. The finding illustrates noise can amplify information transfer. We also find an approximate region where the two kinds of stochastic resonances occur.
