Design and Manufacture of a Vital Signs Monitor with Real-Time Data Transmission

The article presents the design and development of a vital signs monitor for use in ambulances, focusing on real-time data transmission capabilities. The device measures temperature, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), and electrical heart activity (ECG) using an ESP32 microcontroller, which processes and transmits this information to the hospital emergency room through a web server hosted on the AWS cloud using the HTTP protocol. The methodological process included the electronic design, mechanical structure, signal processing and user interface development. Validation tests were conducted using biological signal simulators to ensure accuracy and reliability. The results showed a high level of precision in measuring all parameters, complying with the standards required for emergency medical devices.

Abstract

The article presents the design and development of a vital signs monitor for use in ambulances, focusing on real-time data transmission capabilities. The device measures temperature, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), and electrical heart activity (ECG) using an ESP32 microcontroller, which processes and transmits this information to the hospital emergency room through a web server hosted on the AWS cloud using the HTTP protocol. The methodological process included the electronic design, mechanical structure, signal processing and user interface development. Validation tests were conducted using biological signal simulators to ensure accuracy and reliability.
