Channel Characteristic Analysis and Modeling of WBAN at 11GHz in Medical Scenario
To explore the feasibility of high-frequency band indoor wireless body area network (WBAN) communication in hospital environments, the propagation characteristics of indoor WBAN at the 11GHz are measured and studied. Based on measured data, the statistical characteristics of path loss (PL), shadowing effect and root mean square delay spread (RMS-DS) are analyzed. In the case of height difference between the transmitter and receiver, the PL model with the patient's body angle effect is proposed, where the body angle can be either a horizontal rotation angle or a vertical rotation angle. The research results show that the PL caused by the body angle in the horizontal direction has quadratic function relation with body angle, and it has a trigonometric relationship with the body angle in the vertical direction. In addition, the changes in body angle in different directions also have different impacts on RMS-DS. The above research results can provide a theoretical and practical foundation for the future use of high-frequency bands in indoor medical scenarios.
