32-GHz Reflection-Type Directly Modulated Laser Capable of Stable Single-Mode Operation for 6G Data-Center Network
We report on a distributed feed-back (DFB)-based reflection-type DML (R-DML) with stable single-mode lasing and a side mode suppression ratio of > 45 dB from 20 to 80 mA using asymmetric grating layers. Also, we obtain a 3-dB electric-optical (E/O) bandwidth of about 32 GHz at 25°C using the detuned-loading effect with a 3% reflectivity coating on the front facet and a high reflection (HR) coating on the rear facet of the R-DML.
