Impacts of Blockages on UAV-Enabled Integrated Sensing and Communications
In this paper, we investigate the impacts of block-ages on the performances of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-enabled integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems. Specifically, we first derive the distance distribution between UAV and a typical target in both communication and sensing scenarios, in the presence of three-dimensional blockages. Compared to previous models that either ignored blockage effects or considered only in two-dimensional plane, our model provides a more realistic characterization of random blockages in UAV-enabled ISAC systems. Then, we leverage the tools from stochastic geometry to derive the analytical expressions of the communication coverage probability and successful detection probability in our considered system. Finally, we validate our analysis through numerical results and reveal the interactions between communication and sensing performances, under the impacts of blockages.
