Research and Implementation on Time Synchronisation Deployment for 5G Base Stations
In comparison to synchronous Ethernet and network clock protocols, 1588v2 offers sub-microsecond time synchronisation that fulfils the precision and accuracy requirements of 5 G network nodes. In order to meet the requirements for time synchronisation set out for 5G base stations, three options for deploying a 5G time network were compared in this article. In consideration of the evolution of the transmission bearer network and the requisite reliability and economic viability of the time synchronisation network, scheme C was the selected option. Company $A_{1}$ conducted research tests on the implementation of the 1588 v 2 time protocol. The results of the time synchronisation performance test demonstrated that the 5G time deployment scheme proposed by company $A_{1}$ meets the time accuracy requirement of less than ±1500 ns when tracking satellite input. Furthermore, the time change resulting from a change in the clock input source should be less than 1500 ns. The results demonstrate that Scheme C is an effective solution for the current time synchronisation requirements of 5G base stations.
