A Ka-Band 4-Channel Active Phased Array TX Beamformer IC for Satellite Communications
This paper presents the design of a 4-channel active phased array beamformer intended for communication with Ka-band satellites. The proposed beamformer employs an LCA-PS-LCA-DSA-PA architecture to facilitate the transmission of Active Phased Array Antennas. Measurement outcomes reveal that the transmitter achieves a gain exceeding 50dB and linear bias control within the 27.5~31GHz frequency range. The OP1dB is approximately 10dBm., and the IP1dB is measured at around -50dBm. The transmitting bandwidth spans 27.5 to 31 GHz., with a measured single-channel power of 577.5mW at 2.5V. The transmitter's measured dimensions are 8760×1440 µm2
