Use of Artificial Intelligence to Improve Teacher Preparation

This paper addresses the use of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) within the profession of teacher education, primarily in regards to the improvement of teacher preparation. The discussion emphasizes several aspects of how A.I. might be of benefit to teacher education programs, and is throughout heavily grounded within the extensive body of literature addressing the use and integration of technology into education via the TPACK (technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge) theoretical framework. The TPACK framework has previously provided educational researchers and practitioners with direction and guidance regarding successfully adapting to complex, disruptive technologies and technological systems, and can likewise be of value in safely guiding us through this current scenario.
