Indoor Measurements and Analysis at 13 GHz with a Massive SIMO Channel Sounder
The advancement and improvement of 6G technology heavily rely on identifying and studying new frequency bands. The 13 GHz band, in comparison to existing bands, offers higher data rates, lower latency, and increased capacity, thus meeting the more rigorous network performance requirements of future applications. This paper utilizes channel measurement techniques with a large-scale single-input multiple-output (SIMO) channel sounder to conduct indoor measurements at 13 GHz. The data analysis investigates the wireless channel characteristics of indoor environments at the 13 GHz band. The evaluation of specific parameters includes the power delay profile, delay spread, angular spread, and spatial consistency in both Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) scenarios. Unlike LOS scenarios, the measurement points in NLOS scenarios exhibit more complex multipath components, greater delay spread and angular spread, and lower signal-to-noise ratios. Moreover, by analyzing the angles and power of radial and tangential paths of the measurement points, the spatial consistency of the 13 GHz indoor channel is validated.
