Linguistic Conditional Patterns and Their Use in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers “A model applied to Korean students”
This research aims to clarify the methods of teaching the subjunctive style to non-Arabic speakers, as this study relied on the idea of patterns. The conditional mood in Arabic is distinguished by a peculiarity different from other languages. Each conditional tool has a specificity and apattern that distinguishes it from others. There is a special tool for doubt( إن ), others are specific to a certain possibility( إذا ), and a third is related to impossibility( لو ). Also, conditionals can be followed by a past verb and the meaning is in the future, for example, “ إذا ”. This study also clarified the meaning of conditional tools and how to use them and presented methods for teaching them to non-Arabic speaking students in a gradual manner based on the students’ level in Arabic. It is not useful to talk about the difficulty of grammar without providingsolutions to simplify this difficulty.
