Development and Effectiveness Analysis of a Blended Learning-Based Course on College Life and Career Exploration : Focused on Art Students
The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a college life and career exploration course for art students utilizing a blended learning approach. Art college students must navigate the rapidly changing art industry and an uncertain future by proactively exploring and preparing for their own career paths. To facilitate this process, it is essential to provide systematic and practical career education that enhances career adaptability and resilience. Traditional offline courses alone may not sufficiently address these needs; therefore, this study implements a blended learning method to strengthen students' self-directed learning abilities and career preparation. The study involved 103 students enrolled in the college life and career exploration course at A Art College, employing both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Quantitative analysis was conducted using paired sample t-tests to compare pre- and post-test data on students' adaptation to college life and career preparation behaviors. The results indicated a significant positive impact of the course on both college life adaptation and career preparation behaviors. Qualitative analysis further revealed that students improved their self-directed learning skills, gained confidence in their career preparation processes, and found peer feedback beneficial in addressing career-related challenges. These findings demonstrate that blended learning is an effective approach for career education among art college students, suggesting that the developed course plays a critical role in enhancing career competencies that enable students to adapt flexibly to changes in the art industry. These results can serve as foundational data for future career education programs in art colleges.
