Young People’s Attitude Towards Family and Marriage
The article discusses the results of a study on social representations among young people regarding attitudes towards family and marriage, individual prospects, plans for family creation, unregistered marriages, and childbirth in these unions. It also explores attitudes towards the reasons for starting a family and conditions for a successful marriage, as well as changes in social representations over time. The study analyzes trends in the general attitudes of young people towards these topics over a period of six years. It finds that most respondents believe it is necessary to prepare individuals for starting a family by teaching family values, and there is an increasing trend towards introducing courses on family life in schools. The vast majority of young people plan to start a family and have two children in the future. However, there is also a growing trend among young people to plan for having only one child. The results of this study are discussed in light of demographic trends and current issues in youth policy.
