The Impact of Different PV Model Parameters on the Characteristics and Behavior of the PV Arrays
This research will focus on the photovoltaic (PV) system that is a major part of the renewable energy sector across the globe, it is important because of the necessity for a proper modeling and effective performance to ensure the generation of electricity is optimally enhanced. This paper provides a comprehensive study and discussion on how specific parameters of PV models influence the characteristics and behavior of PV systems under different temperature and irradiance levels. The research studied the impact of series resistance, shunt resistance, photocurrent, reverse saturation current, and the diode ideality factor on the performance of PV arrays. The parameters were extracted and analyzed mathematically and using simulations. Thus, it is reasonable to assume that the results of this research will be useful for improving the PV systems, mainly for the design and operation of photovoltaic arrays. In addition, this research will have a positive impact in installing appropriate solar energy technology that shall be sustainable.
