Development of the Educational Boardgame for Multicultural Families : Focusing on Korean Cultural Understanding and Economic Education

The purpose of the study is to develop an educational board game for multicultural families, focusing on Korean cultural understanding and economic education. With Korea's growing multicultural population facing challenges in language and cultural adaptation, engaging educational tools are essential. The board game, Ari! Arirang, includes components such as a board, dice, cultural theme and chance cards, and play money, covering topics like Korean cultural traditions and economic concepts such as money, savings, and investments. A second version, &quotArario!,&quot uses card matching with cultural symbols and financial tasks to reinforce knowledge and memory. Through interactive board game play, multicultural families participating in the game explore Korean culture and learn economic concepts in a fun and supportive environment. The game fosters family interaction, enhances language skills, and strengthens financial literacy, supporting multicultural families' adaptation to Korean society and promoting parent-child and intergenerational bonding.
