Przestrzenne zróżnicowanie Spatial diversity in the results of the parliamentary elections in the Slovak Republic in 2023wyników wyborów parlamentarnych w Republice Słowackiej w 2023 r.

The article discusses the results of the parliamentary elections in Slovakia, which took place on 30th September 2023, from the perspective of their spatial diversity. The basic method of the study was a regional analysis of official results, taking into account different socio-demographic indicators. The text seeks to answer the question of what factors determine the geographical distribution of support for individual groups with different political orientations. Particular attention is paid to those areas of the Slovak Republic, whose inhabitants stand out for their political sympathies. In addition, an attempt was made – necessary for understanding the subject of Slovak electoral geography – to present and place Slovak parties in the political spectrum. The various threads of the study have led to conclusions that the victory in these elections was decided by areas where mistrust of the European Union and aversion to liberalism prevail.
