Kulturowe źródła antroponimii falenickich Żydów – geneza imion zanotowanych w księdze zgonów Falenickiego Okręgu Bóżniczego z lat 1920-1934

The article focuses on the first names of persons of Jewish origin (521 men and 316 women) recorded in the Falenica District Synagogue death registers from 1920 through 1934. The aim of the analysis was to trace the names and their variants, and to answer the question of the cultural sources of these names. The study shows that biblical and Yiddish names predominate in the Jewish community of Falenica municipality, constituted and forming at that time for socioeconomic reasons. The registered names serve as a testimony to the cultural identity of the people identified by them and, above all, as evidence of their lack of acculturation.
