Message from the Hon. Treasurer, Indian Psychiatric Society

It gives me great pleasure to acknowledge the exemplary efforts of the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Committee of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) in developing the comprehensive Clinical Practice Guidelines on Cognition in Neuropsychiatric Disorders and Management of Long Stay Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorder Patients. The creation of these guidelines is the result of an extensive consultative process, involving experienced clinicians and experts from across the country. These guidelines cover critical aspects of cognitive impairments across various neuropsychiatric conditions and provide much-needed direction for the management of long-stay patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders. The dedication and diligence demonstrated by the CPG Committee reflect the Society’s commitment to advancing clinical standards and addressing the unique challenges faced by mental health professionals. These guidelines will serve as an invaluable resource, guiding psychiatrists in both public and private settings to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. On behalf of the Indian Psychiatric Society, I extend my sincere appreciation to the CPG Committee for this outstanding achievement. I am confident that these guidelines will contribute significantly to improving mental healthcare outcomes across the country. With warm regards, Dr M. Aleem Siddiqui Hon.
