Message for CPG 2024

Dear Friends, I deem it an honor and delight to write this message for the IPS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) 2025, a yearly exercise for over two decades. The first IPS Task Force on CPGs was constituted in 2004 under the Chairpersonship of Dr. Shiv Gautam, and over the years, this Task Force has published 17 volumes of CPG on varying clinical topics. I am aware that the formulation of these CPG Guidelines goes through a nationwide consultative process as well as a review of other similar international guidelines, which the Task Force members have undertaken diligently during the last 20 years. The current volume is on Cognitive impairments in various psychiatric disorders, including neurodevelopmental disorders, focusing on assessment, treatment, and remediation. The CPGs constitute an excellent resource for the guidance of psychiatrists in their day-to-day practice and for students to learn from. I congratulate Dr. Shiv Gautam for leading this important academic activity of the IPS for over two decades and appreciate the efforts and hard work put in by him and his team. With best compliments and regards to the CPG team. Sincerely yours in IPS Savita Malhotra Vice-President cum President Elect IPS Financial support and sponsorship Nil.
