The Investigation of Students' Perceptions Regarding Regular Subjects, Through the Development and Implementation of Invention Education Programs Linked to Regular Subjects

The Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association developed a ‘regular curriculum-linked invention education program’ from 2022 to 2024 to integrate invention education, into regular classes, moving traditional focus on of invention education centered on after-school programs. This study examined theperceptions of 256 students from four school subjects before and after the program’s implementation, investigating whether any changes occurred. A questionnairebased on the Semantic differential method (Osgood, Suci, Tannenbaum, 1957) was employed. the result shows that the students' perception sensitivity increased in ethics and physical education after the program, whereas mathematics and music displayed more adjective groups with low perception sensitivity both before and after. Notably, the number of adjective groups that showed statistically significant changes particularly in ethics, increased significantly post-program. espite the limitations of the pilot implementation, students overall demonstrated a positive changes in their perceptions of the subjects after participating in the program, offering meaningful implications for future policy implementation.
