Effects of a Community Mobility Training Program Using Smartphone Apps on Community Mobility Skills and Mobile Self-Efficacy in Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This study examines the effects of a community mobility training program using smartphones on the community mobility skills and mobile self-efficacy of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Four students with ASD from a special education class in a general middle school participated, receiving education through a program that used smartphones and navigation applications. To analyze the program's effectiveness, we conducted a paired sample t-test on pre- and post-test scores, which showed significant improvements in both community mobility skills and mobile self-efficacy. These findings suggest that smartphone-based training programs can support community participation for students with ASD and provide recommendations for future research and practical applications.
