Self-translation and/or Rewriting. The translingual journey of Alba de Céspedes, from Sans autre lieu que la nuit to Nel buio della notte
Abstract De Céspedes’ work is characterized by a complex linguistic mosaic, culminating in the last twenty years with the experimental novel Sans autre lieu que la nuit , influenced by 1970s Italian narrative and set in Paris. The novel’s French, rich in various registers, required extensive adaptation for the Italian translation Nel buio della notte . The article analyses the translation strategies and narrative devices used to adapt the novel to Italian culture, highlighting the differences between the two works.
