A108: The Dilemma and Path Choice of Ethnic Traditional Sports

<bold>Purpose:</bold> As an important part of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, ethnic traditional sports have a unique role in promoting the formation and strengthening of the sense of community of the Chinese nation. However, ethnic traditional sports face many dilemmas in the process of promotion and popularization, so it is of great practical significance to study the realistic dilemmas and path choices of ethnic traditional sports. <bold>Method:</bold> This study collected relevant information through the documentation method to understand the current development status and dilemma of traditional ethnic sports. Through the interview method, we gained an in-depth understanding of the specific situation of carrying out ethnic traditional sports activities in communities, schools, enterprises, and institutions. Through the field investigation method, field observation and recording of ethnic traditional sports activities were carried out to provide real and reliable data and information for the study. <bold>Results:</bold> Ethnic traditional sports face the following dilemmas in the process of promotion and popularization: (a) a single way of inheritance, (b) a limited number of people participating in ethnic traditional sports due to the fact that they are not very competitive and lack the ornamental and attractive qualities of modern sports, (c) the promotion and popularization of ethnic traditional sports required a large amount of financial support, but the lack of policy support and financial investment led to poor promotional effect, (d) low cultural identity. <bold>Conclusion:</bold> To promote the development of traditional ethnic sports, we should start from the following aspects: (a) strengthen theoretical research, (b) strengthen the education and publicity of traditional ethnic sports, (c) innovate the inheritance methods, (d) strengthen the policy support, attract more social resources into the promotion and popularization of traditional ethnic sports, (e) strengthen the cooperation among schools, communities, enterprises, and institutions to form a promotional, (f) strengthen the excavation and organization of traditional national sports culture, carry forward its cultural connotation and value, and enhance cultural self-confidence.
