In the modern educational process, student motivation for learning is a key aspect. Jan Amos Comenius emphasized the importance of awakening interest in studying through feelings and reasoning, which is relevant today as well. Student success depends on the interest that educators instill from the very first lessons, making primary school teachers central figures in education. The development of emotional intelligence plays a significant role in mastering subjects and the overall process. The Federal State Educational Standard describes the “portrait of a graduate” which includes curiosity, respect for values, and kindness. Nurturing such qualities is impossible without developing emotional intelligence, which fosters trusting relationships. It is important to distinguish between personal and social competencies that create a positive communication atmosphere.Modern parents actively raise their children; however, they sometimes overlook the importance of the psychological aspect of upbringing. While schools focus on academic knowledge, emotional development often remains in the shadows, requiring a reevaluation of teaching approaches.Low social activity in children leads to insecurity and decreased academic performance. Involving younger students in community projects, such as work initiatives and environmental activities, enhances their self-esteem and discipline, while also developing emotional intelligence. The work of the school theater in the 4th grade increased interest in learning and improved academic success, especially among struggling students. The introduction of “Slavinka” as school currency motivates children to achieve, and participation in Olympiads increased academic performance by 13.2%.
