The author set the task, based on the typification accepted in this area, to classify such works, to determine trends in the creolization of journalistic materials that contribute to their recognition by the expert community. The author applied a statistical research method, using journalistic publications selected for the shortlist of the FJA international award in the period 2019-2023 as the study sample. The attribute space for the analysis of publications was formed on the basis of the most common classifications of creolized texts. The main conclusion drawn from the study:In the digital age, many texts, primarily those created by media consortia, are accompanied by numerous additions in the form of paralinguistic elements. This allows you to better illustrate the issue and immerse the reader in the context of the story, as well as, through its expressive function, generate greater audience involvement. At the same time, the verbal component remains the basis of almost all publications. The balance between the verbal and non- verbal parts, the correct use of paralinguistic elements without excessive dramatization, false associations and other elements of manipulation - all these are the main criteria for the quality of creolized text in journalistic materials, which were recognized as the best in international competitions.Despite the increase in the types of popular visual elements in journalistic publications, the verbal part remains the main one and in the vast majority of cases is capable of conveying the essence of the media text to the addressee without accompanying graphic and interactive elements. At the same time, the variety of visual elements used does not correlate with the quality of the articles (as assessed by the jury of the journalistic competition in question), which also indicates the auxiliary role of the non-verbal component.
