Based on the population forecast made by Rosstat of the Russian Federation, quantitative parameters of changes in the population structure of the subjects of the Northwestern Federal District are considered. The role of the dynamics of birth rate indicators, life expectancy and migration in the formation of the prospective population of the regions of the Northwestern Federal District is highlighted.
