Co-Sale Model for Renewable Energy and Hydropower in Mid-and-Long-Term Electricity Transactions in China
Renewable energy has been developing rapidly in recent years. Characterized with strong volatility and uncertainty, it's difficult for renewable energy sellers to participate in mid-and-long-term electricity transactions in China. This paper proposes a co-sale model for renewable energy and hydropower. In this model, renewable energy sellers cooperate with a hydropower seller to increase their guaranteed-output. A higher guaranteed-output allows more electricity generated by renewable energy to be sold in mid-and-long-term transactions. The proposed model is tested on an actual co-sale process in Qinghai Province, China. Case study shows that the proposed co-sale model effectively increases the proportion of renewable energy traded in mid-and-long-term transactions. Besides, we detailly analyze the co-sale process and the influence of hydropower-related parameters on simulation results.
