Entrepreneuriat social féminin et mobilisation citoyenne : le rôle des groupements de promotion féminine dans la préservation de l’environnement et dans l’autonomisation des femmes
Abstract. In its classic meaning, or at least in its economic conception, entrepreneurship is conceived as an activity aimed at generating income for individual purposes. However, this concept further restricts the scope of entrepreneurship, which can, to a certain extent, mobilise diverse civic forces to meet the needs of the community. Women's social entrepreneurship, which mobilises women within collective frameworks such as women's promotion groups (GPFs) to effectively resolve social needs, should be seen and understood in this light. As such, the aim of this article is to describe and understand the various collective dynamics emerging around women's social entrepreneurship and its role in preserving the environment and empowering women financially. This article is based on the results of a qualitative study conducted in Senegal, specifically in the commune of Hann Bel Air between 2019 and 2021. The main target was the Hann Bel Air women's and environmental association. The results of the study show that the GPFs have played a decisive role in the fight against insalubrity in Hann Bay, through citizen mobilisations such as set-setal and the manufacture of plastic paving stones. In addition, women's social entrepreneurship through GPFs is a real panacea for the fight against poverty.
