Visibilité de la production scientifique et intégration de l’utilisation de l’Identifiant ORCID dans la formation des chercheurs à la maîtrise de l’information dans les institutions académiques et de recherche publiques en Côte d’Ivoire
Abstract. According to the French Development Agency, "only 3.2% of the world's scientific publications come from the African continent" (AFD, 2021). This low visibility or accessibility reflects a low reuse of scientific production, particularly in French-speaking subSaharan African countries, faced with a lack of adequate infrastructure, policies, and skills, etc. Signed in 2021, the UNESCO recommendation on open science aims to make scientific knowledge freely accessible and reusable by all to address global and societal challenges. Despite its implementation through the deployment of the national repository since 2016, the Open Access Week Côte d'Ivoire established in 2018, the national symposium held in 2022, UVCI Open Science policy 2022, etc., the visibility of the scientific production from Côte d’Ivoire remains low. This study aims to improve the visibility of the scientific production by integrating persistent identifiers (ORCID, DOI). The data collected from researchers training sessions, reveal the lack of awareness on the issues and interest in using ORCID ID (75% answers). It is a permanent and sustainable identifier useful throughout the researcher's career. It links the researcher to its productions and information systems. However, its integration requires informational and digital skills. The ORCID project has made possible raising awareness, advocating and building capacities. The data collected, qualitative and quantitative, come from observation and discussions with 716 participants and 187 answers to the questionnaire. Data analysis reveals new skills acquired, highlights training needs expressed by 73.2% and the usefulness of this training (98%). With 96% response, the need to advocate to integrate ORCID Id into the practices of researchers and institutions is confirmed. Thus, ten (10) academic and public institutions have committed to the creation of the national consortium to perpetuate the achievements of the ORCID project. In conclusion, this work has broadened our understanding of the concept of information literacy with the integration of ORCID Id by communities and research institutions to improve the visibility of the scientific production. Keywords : open science, persistent identifiers, ORCID Id, information literacy, scientific production visibility.
