Stability Analysis In Inbred Population Of Tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum. L)

An investigation was undertaken in the farmers’ field at Kanaykanahalli village, Belur Taluq, Hassan District during 2020-2022 to investigate the stability in 29 advanced breeding lines (ABL) along with five checks viz., Arka Rakshak, Arka Samrat, Arka Apeksha, Pusa Ruby and Pusa Rohini. The performance of genotypes over environments could be predicted reasonably for plant height, days to fifty per cent flowering , fruit yield per plant, number of locules and TSS as the G × E interactions and G × E (linear) components were significant for these traits. The results showed that ABL 315 was stable with respect to fruit weight. ABLs 343, 283, 362 and 315 were stable for yield aims the three seasons studied. ABLs 343, 294, 283 and ABLs 454, 399 and 66 were stable with respect to fruit length and fruit width respectively. Advanced breeding line 343 was stable for firmness. Advanced breeding lines 290 and 315 were stable with respect to lycopene.
