Digital inclusion and environmental sustainability: a case of educational community action as a project model in vulnerale contexts

The article presents a case study of the “Anjos da Escola” (School’s Angel) pro-ject, carried out in a city called Varginha/MG in 2020, with the aim of promoting digital inclusion and sustainability in the management of electronic waste, aligned with the principles of circular economy and social technology. The initiative bene-fited 87 families in vulnerable situations, supporting 134 students through the donation of refurbished computers and internet access points, seeking to reduce the impacts of digital exclusion intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addi-tion to addressing urgent educational needs, the project incorporated socio-environmental practices, highlighting the reintegration of electronic waste as a resource for technological and educational inclusion. The work also includes a literature review that addresses the topics of digital inclusion, circular economy, and social technology, providing scientific support to the discussion. The results emphasize the importance of initiatives that combine social innovation, sustaina-bility, and digital inclusion, serving as a replicable model to other vulnerable communities, promoting sustainable development.
