Analysis of Moisture Content Data of Natural Gas in Pipeline Systems

This paper presents an original mathematical model for determining thermobaric parameters of gathering lines, accounting for convective heat transfer and turbulent core formation within the gas gathering pipeline cavity. The presented mathematical model characterizes heat transfer, heat exchange, and turbulent core behavior through two dimensionless coefficients. Additionally, the work introduces a novel equation for natural gas moisture content determination, enabling more precise calculations of methanol inhibition processes in gas gathering lines (field pipelines). The inhibitor calculation methodology presented herein can be applied for hydrate elimination upon their formation in gas gathering lines. The methodology incorporates considerations of gas-hydrate phase transition, pipeline operating conditions, flow rate parameters, pressure variables, temperature metrics, and inhibitor concentration factors. Methodology verification was conducted utilizing field data obtained from an operational gas field in the Krasnodar region.
