Packet Reception Analysis of C-V2X Mode 4 Communication for Highway Scenarios
This paper analyzes the packet reception performance of the Mode 4 transmission mode of cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communication technology under highway conditions. For improving the communication quality in high-speed environments, sensing-based semi-persistent scheduling (SB-SPS) approach is used for network resource allocation and scheduling management. Based on the SB-SPS scheme, the transmission mode 4 enables point-to-point communication without going through a base station. Since the resource scheduling method on SB-SPS relies on parameters between vehicles, this work mainly studies the system performance of wireless resource reception, considering different vehicle speeds and the Krauss car-following model in the highway scenarios. The system applies OMNeT++ and SUMO frameworks to conduct road traffic communication simulations, perform data analysis for evaluating the feasibility of the developed software platform, and further propose plans for improving system performance in real highway environments.
