Design and Analysis of Autonomous Antenna for Vehicle to Vehicle Communication
Internet technology advancements have significantly improved transportation by updating traffic patterns on maps. This is achieved through Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication using small antennas in cars to exchange information. Nonetheless, the majority of antenna designs for V2V communication use dipole antenna array. Based on this, a fractal dipole based triangular-shaped antenna array was modelled with resonance at 5.7 GHz, a frequency suited for vehicular communication, was proposed in this article. Here, the triangular shaped dipole antenna was first analyzed. Then, it connected in series to form an antenna array. The simulation analysis showed that both the antenna achieved higher efficiency of 86% for dipole antenna and 94% for antenna array at its resonant frequency of 5.7 GHz. This shows that the proposed antenna structure is best for the vehicle to vehicle communication.
