Centralized Monitoring System for Street Light Fault Detection & Location Tracking using Android Application
The Internet of Things (IoT), an evolving technological paradigm, primarily aims to interconnect devices and components, enabling communication between these entities and people. The integration of IoT for automated detection of faulty streetlights represents a significant advancement in urban infrastructure management. The project’s overarching objective is to streamline the control and identification processes related to malfunctioning streetlights. In this initiative, streetlight issues are identified through a dual approach: firstly, via resident complaints and secondly, through the monitoring of operational status using sensors. These sensors are specifically designed to evaluate streetlight functionality, providing real-time insights into their operational status. Resident complaints are seamlessly transmitted to designated personnel through a dedicated Android application, facilitating swift and efficient issue resolution. The complaints database serves as a repository, meticulously documenting the precise locations of faulty streetlights for improved logistical efficiency. Moreover, users can monitor the progress and status of their reports through the application, promoting transparency and accountability in the resolution process. Furthermore, our project also delivers real-time data on the current, voltage, and intensity of every streetlight within a designated area through an Android application. By implementing this comprehensive approach, the project aims to ensure prompt and effective resolution of identified issues, thereby enhancing community safety and well-being. Additionally, the application includes a feature allowing administrators to remotely control the lights, further enhancing convenience and control over urban lighting infrastructure.
