Outdoor THz channel measurements at 300 GHz with observed multipath components beyond 1 km
This paper introduces THz channel propagation measurements at 300 GHz in an outdoor roof terrace environment. The results exhibit multipath reflections of up to 1 km distance, demonstrating the extreme sensitivity of this novel measurement system. From the measured data instantaneous power delay profiles were calculated, which were analyzed with respect to path loss, as well as the fading parameters RMS delay spread, channel length, and number of multipath components. The path loss was modeled according to the log-distance law. It was observed that the path loss exponent was slightly below two, whereas all fading parameters were correlated and increased with distance.
