A new variable step-size hybrid affine projection algorithm for active noise control
Impulsive noise is common in active noise control (ANC) applications. The hybrid affine projection algorithm (H-APA) has excellent performance in dealing with impulse noise outliers as compared to traditional ANC algorithms. Accordingly, this paper proposes H-FxAPA, which is derived from the application of H-APA to ANC. Based on the analysis of the steady state step size of H-FxAPA, a new variable step-size method of the algorithm is proposed, which is an extended application of the steady state analysis and adjusts the change of the step-size by an introduced control term, called as NVSS-H-FxAPA. Simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms to cope with impulse noise and its superiority over similar state-of-the-art algorithms.
