Electromagnetic Modal Inversion—Part III: Designing an Aperture Radiating the Objective Near/Far Field by a Purely Resonant Mode

A method for designing an aperture which can radiate the same field as the previously determined objective field on a sampling domain is proposed. The aperture design method can guarantee the aperture-radiated field is purely resonant. The aperture design method is based on the previously proposed energy transport theorem (ETT)-based decoupling mode theory (DMT), energy-based modal decomposition method, and electromagnetic modal inversion method.

Abstract

A method for designing an aperture which can radiate the same field as the previously determined objective field on a sampling domain is proposed. The aperture design method can guarantee the aperture-radiated field is purely resonant. The aperture design method is based on the previously proposed energy transport theorem (ETT)-based decoupling mode theory (DMT), energy-based modal decomposition method, and electromagnetic modal inversion method.
