RSSI centre-of-mass localisation algorithm based on proposed Newton and median filtering

To address the problem that the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is subject to interference from the environment and other sources, causing errors in the received data, thus decreasing the positioning accuracy. In this document, an algorithm is proposed, which is an RSSI-weighted centre of mass location method based on Newton filtering and proposed median, RSSI data were optimised using Newton's method to improve accuracy. Median filtering was then performed to remove overlapping or erroneous information to ensure data quality. After experimental verification, the RSSI-weighted centre-of-mass localisation algorithm based on Newton and median filters performs excellently in terms of localisation accuracy, with an error reduction of 51.26% and 38.91% compared to the RSSI-based centre-of-mass localisation algorithm and RSSI-based weighted centre-of-mass localisation algorithm, respectively. This result gives us confidence in the performance and effectiveness of this algorithm and brings new possibilities for the development of positioning technology.
