Analysis of Wind Turbine Vibration Suppression Based on a New Damping System
With global warming, extreme weather conditions in coastal areas have increased significantly. Offshore wind turbines are facing worsening environmental loading conditions, which will undoubtedly exacerbate the top vibration and structural damage of wind turbines. In this paper, we design a damping system for top vibration damping of wind turbines. The modeling results show that, for the new damping system, the nacelle displacement can be guaranteed to be within a reasonable range by choosing the appropriate design stiffness and damping. Finite element analysis shows that it can quickly restore the nacelle to a smooth state in the range of conventional loads. The new damping system can reduce the response of the wind turbine in many aspects such as displacement, bending moment, and stress. This is of great significance for the development and design of offshore wind turbines.
